Job Summary:The Clinical Nurse Educator works with the North Country Healthcare Education Facilitator and Education Coordinator, as well as a team of clinical nurse experts (Clinical Skills Development Team) composed of representatives from each member agency. This team performs skills develop needs assessments, plans, implements and evaluates learning activities and programs designed to address the identified needs. The team also creates and implements programs for the orientation of new graduate nurse transition to practice, orientation of experienced nurses to new units and roles, and ongoing development of clinical skills for nursing staff in the critical, acute, maternal/child, peri-operative and ambulatory care settings of NCH member agencies. The Clinical Nurse Educator facilitates the development of adult education skills for clinical supervisors and clinical experts using the principles of adult /peer learning, and developing preceptor and mentoring skills in nurses who orient new graduates, cross-trainers and new hires. The Clinical Nurse Educator works with the Education Facilitator to maintain the Education Department budget as it relates to projecting equipment and technology needs and the content of ongoing clinical skill development activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in team leadership, be self-directed in the acquisition of new skills; particularly as this relates to the integration of simulation technology into clinical learning activities, and foster a safe environment and culture for learning among nursing leadership and staff. Essential Qualifications:Registered Nurse or Paramedic, Excellent communication skills, Project Management experience, Previous teaching experience with adult learners Current AHA Instructor Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS Advanced computer skills for manipulating the hardware and software for Simulation Lab DESIRED.
