Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing functions under the direct supervision of a registered and licensed Ultrasound Technologist.
- Positioning patients for ultrasound exams, the aide is also responsible for preparing exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and contrast medications.
- Must possess outstanding customer service skills and be flexible to accommodate volumes.
When the Ultrasound student clinical intern is on-site and working as an employee of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the Ultrasound clinical intern must not make any radiation exposures in accordance with the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in the Amarillo College Sonography Program
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be enrolled in an accredited radiography program with an anticipated completion date as outlined in the radiography program.
