Job DescriptionNestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:This is a union-based role represented by the SEIU. Performs clinical laboratory testing in one or more of the following laboratory areas: blood bank, microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, or urinalysis following standardized procedures in accordance with regulatory and hospital policies and procedures.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize workload and multitask are essential. Good verbal and written English communication skills. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Can demonstrate competence in performing Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology and related testing on Clinical Specimens.Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related degree: Required
- Successful completion of an accredited laboratory training program: Required
Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the state of California: Required
