Post Acute Care Units
A Wingis a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulites, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors, social work, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. A Wing offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning, professional growth and personal satisfaction.
B Wingis a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident's plan of care.
C Wingis a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy&wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.
About the facility
With 2 floors, 4 units, we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. We also have various programs for residents to participate in
Scope of WorkThe clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide not only professional but exceptional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles while upholding Beaumont mission and vision, code of ethics and other policies. He/she demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting and is responsible for continuing personal education, mentoring peers and educating patients/residents and families. The clinical nurse effectively communicates to promote efficient operation of the unit and to contribute to positive patient/resident outcomes while maintaining a positive attitude, respect, responsiveness, courtesy and professional appearance.How we will care for you, while you care for our patients
