Clinical Supervisor
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director and lead Clinical Supervisor, supervises licensed clinicians and /or counselors providing assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, case management and outreach. A portion of the time may be spend performing individual clinical and administrative tasks including carrying a small caseload, however, supervisory activities constitute the primary part of the job. Clinical Supervisors ensure compliance with UCSF Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science departmental or organizational policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Ensures accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and huma) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures. Assists in ensuring the quality of treatment delivery. Assists with quality assurance and reviews clinical documentation for compliance with city, county, state, federal and regulatory requirements. Other supervisory aspects of the role include training, scheduling/assignment of duties, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Department Description
The Division of Substance Abuse and Addiction Medicine (DSAAM) provides multi-disciplinary consultation and treatment for patients with substance use disorders at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH). DSAAM provides opioid agonist treatment for opioid use disorder through the Opiate Treatment Outpatient Program (OTOP) at SFGH, a well-established and regarded opioid treatment program.
