Overview:

The New York Foundlings School Based Mental Health Program (SBMH) partners with schools around NYC to increase accessibility of mental health services to families by bringing high quality, evidence-based mental health treatment inside schools where any child enrolled in public schools can reach them. We also aim to build schools capacity to meet the social and emotional needs of their students by empowering schools to think and operate proactively and relationally through ongoing collaboration, school faculty consultations, and delivery workshops to the school community.

Responsibilities:

The SBMH team is looking for a Clinical Supervisor to join our team. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President (AVP), the Clinical Supervisor:

  • Provides weekly individual and group supervision for up to 5 clinicians/family advocates to ensure proper mental health model service delivery; delivery of targeted, selective, and universal interventions; monitor clinician performance; provide clinical guidance and feedback; and promote clinical and professional development.
  • Provides clinical crisis support to staff during hours of operation, after hours if needed, and participate in a weekend on-call rotational schedule. Be well-versed in safety protocols.
  • Reviews clinician's paperwork, including but not limited to, intake assessments, treatment plan, and progress notes to ensure compliance with agency, model, and other governing body regulations. Enter needed supervisory documentation including entry into OSH and DOHMH portals.
  • Supports staff's delivery of trainings, workshops, presentations, and consultations to enhance capacity of the school community to meet the social and emotional needs of their students. Supervisors may directly provide workshops and other universal services at the school if needed for staff development and team support.
  • Promotes school community integration through fostering positive relationships and proactive communication with school stakeholders, attending/coordinating meetings and providing on-site support as needed.
  • In coordination with the AVP: interview, make hiring decisions, and onboarding planning of frontline staff.
  • Participates in monthly Program Monitoring Meetings and bi-monthly Case Reviews to ensure team is successfully meeting all Key Performance Indicators. Participate in other required meetings/supervision to coordinate support for clients and foster team cohesion and training.
  • Provides school on-site coverage during vacancies which could include maintaining caseload, leading groups, providing crisis support, and leading workshops.

Salary Range - $82,846.97-$86,346.97/year

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
  • Mental health Counseling or related subject area. Must hold an active state license (such as LMHC, LMFT, LCAT, and/or LCSW).
  • Strong individual and team organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills and preferred 3-5 years of accumulated experience (internships through post-graduate) providing direct services to youth and their families. Clinical experience/training on common clinical problems, diverse populations served, and in modalities used within the department preferred.
Education Required: Masterss Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
