Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., position is hybrid of on-site work days and the option of completing virtual/remote assessments 2 days per week (once fully trained in the position) Location: Langhorne Wellness Center, Lynchburg, VA 24501 Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week) Location: Lynchburg VA, 24501 Position Summary The Clinician, Licensed or Resident in Counseling, will complete preliminary and intake assessments for individuals who are referred to or approach Horizon Behavioral Health for services. The Clinician LMHPE will coordinate referrals internally to Horizon services or externally to appropriate community resources, and will also carry a caseload of assigned outpatient cases. Required Education and Experience Master's Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's Program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia) No experience required. Resident in Professional Counseling, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in Licensed Marriage, Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment, or eligibility to apply for residency (Note: New hires will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30 days of hire.) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), Certified Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CPCNS). Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of behavior modification; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies; psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc. Knowledge of community mental health and public health to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources. Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required. Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to various Horizon sites.
