Cloud Engineer (Azure) - Gotham Technology Group : Job Details

Our direct client, a hedge fund, is seeking a Cloud Engineer to provide support and engineering expertise to their corporate Azure environment on a small team. As they strategically migrate systems to the cloud, this role will be crucial role in the transformation

This role is on-site 4 days/week and located walking distance to Grand Central.

Job Description and Duties

• Support and maintain application portfolios and various technology solutions including, though not limited to, Microsoft stack; Intune, Entra, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Project engineering work including; OneDrive, SharePoint, MIgrations, Autopilot
• Under the direction of the lead, work to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
• Implement and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency, performance, and security.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automating cloud/server functions.
• Ensure business continuity through effective disaster recovery and backup procedures.
• Monitor system performance to ensure reliability and availability.
• Implement and adhere to cloud-specific best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience with on-prem to Azure design and implementations

Proficiency in file management using OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure Files, and Storage Accounts.

Experience with endpoint management including Autopilot, Intune, Entra Joined/Hybrid/Registered Machines, and Azure Virtual Desktop.

Strong knowledge of Azure networking, peering, and DNS.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
