Slocumb Street GoldsboroJob Type: Part-TimeJob Number: 2023-00017Department: Golf CourseOpening Date: 02/16/2023Closing Date: ContinuousGeneral Statement of Duties/Distinguished Features of the ClassPerforms customer service assisting in the operations of golf programs and services.Distinguishing Features of the ClassAn employee in this class is responsible for working at club house, handling receipt of monies and assisting customers. Provides assistance with the public/players with scheduling tees times, selling merchandise, starting players, overseeing starters and maintenance of golf carts. Work involves performing preventative maintenance of equipment and completing reports/records. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Golf Course Director or Club House Assistant and reviewed through observation, periodic conferences, reports, and results. Essential Duties and Tasks

• Monitors course play
• Collects cart/green fees
• Operate point of sale and run end of day reports
• Handles and receives monies and sales of merchandise
• Responsible for daily clean-up and security of golf carts
• Maintains all golf facilities including driving range and tennis courts
• Clean and maintain on-course restrooms
• Perform other job-related duties or tasks as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in the game of golf, golf etiquette, and golf course operations.
• Excellent customer relations skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge in the repair and maintenance of golf carts and routine housekeeping.
• Knowledgeable in the handling and receipting of money and sales of merchandise.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with city officials, course guests.

Physical Requirements/Special RequirementsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull or otherwise move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze activity data and figures, operate a computer, operate golf carts, and be able to inspect the work of others.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work is generally performed in inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather, and exposed to various hazards such as working in heavy traffic, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, dusts, mists and oils. Work is also subject to the final OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens. The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental risks which require a range of safety and other precautions. Employees will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shield.Minimum Education and Experience

• High school diploma or working towards Diploma/equivalent
• Must be 16 years of age or older

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License or Permit.
• Preference will be given to those with previous experience in a golf setting and those with knowledge of the game of golf.
