Performs a wide range of clinical duties including assisting the provider in providing quality care in a medical office setting. What you will do. Exhibits knowledge of lab procedures to include compliant use of AB - Ns and phlebotomy skills (if applicable). Sends specimens to correct lab. Accurately performs lab linkage, obtains pre authorizations, scheduling tests and specialist visits within network limitations. Follows insurance carrier guidelines and Medicare regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of ICD 9 and CPT coding and seeks assistance as needed. Acts as a liaison between physician and patient, providing patient access to care, including for appointments, referrals and essential information. Demonstrates excellent customer service to include providing timely patient response and follow up. Manages patient expectations with clear explanations (i.e., informing patients about delays as appropriate) and effectively manages the providers' patient schedules.
