Shawnee Health is seeking a CMA or LPN for our Shawnee Health Carbondale Medical office. This position reports directly to the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities * Prepares the exam rooms for the patient by setting up any needed equipment and maintains a clean, organized, efficient and confidential work area. * Obtains vital signs, height and weight, allergies, completes medication reconciliation, review of systems, updates immunizations and documents relevant information by following appropriate EHR work flow for the visit type and alerts provider to any concerns. * Performs any lab tests, screening procedures, administers medications or immunizations per the provider orders or per standing orders and documents in the patient medical record. * Manages electronic inbox and completes tasks in a timely manner. * Communicates effectively with patient by telephone to relay advice or instructions from the provider. * Monitors compliance for lab testing related to pharmacological treatments. * Required to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and early morning hours. * Reliable transportation on the job is mandatory Requirements * Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and auto liability insurance on personal vehicles. * BLS/CPR Certification must be maintained. Knowledge of basic first aid is required. * Must have a valid Illinois nursing license to practice as a LPN or proof of certificate to practice as a Medical Assistant. Starting salary - * CMA $20.00-$21.86 per hour * LPN $21.10-$23.08 per hour Full-time employee benefits include: * 12 vacation days earned in the first year * 12 paid personal days/holidays per calendar year * 6 sick days earned per year * Retirement plan with 3% company contribution after becoming eligible in the plan (a matching contribution by the employee is not required to receive this benefit).
