Job Summary:This position is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) role designed to provide direct, compassionate care and assistance with daily living needs to patients. CNA will work closely with other permanent and temporary staff and assist in their duties as needed.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist with daily living activities to make sure the patient is taken care of. This includes obtaining and recording vital signs, turning and ambulating patients and delivering food and beverages to patients throughout the day.
  • Help patients with personal hygiene, such as providing bedpans and helping them bathe.
  • Provide adjunct patient care as needed. This can include delivering ice packs and dressings to help relieve pain while in therapy or baths for soothing purposes after their session has ended.
  • Process a wide range of information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
  • Closely monitor and record food intake, as well as urinary and fecal output, to be shared with key medical and nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates behaviors commensurate with the Vision, Mission, Values and Behavioral Standards of SnapCare.

Communication/Knowledge:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with various individuals both inside and outside the organization.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations, openness to learning, ability to identify and utilize resources in an unfamiliar environment, and strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient with computer systems.

Job Requirements Education/Experience:

  • Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, state certified nursing assistant certification, and basic computer skills.
  • Must have minimum of 6 months of experience.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current CNA certification in good standing by the State of Licensing.
  • Current BLS or CPR/First Aid; Current Food Handlers Card.

  • Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster
  • Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients.
  • Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when a patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
  • Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
