Job Description:
Patient Care:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Help patients with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and walking.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc.).
- Observe and report changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff.
Assistance with Medical Procedures:
- Help nurses and doctors with basic medical procedures, such as changing dressings or taking specimens.
- Ensure patients are positioned comfortably and safely.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report any concerns to healthcare providers.
Patient Comfort:
- Provide emotional support to patients and offer companionship.
- Ensure patient privacy and dignity is respected.
Housekeeping and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment.
- Ensure patient equipment and supplies are well-stocked and clean.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
- Work alongside nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Certification: Must be a certified nursing assistant, often requiring completion of a state-approved training program and passing a competency exam.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience may be preferred but is not always required.
