Baker Industries, a Lincoln Electric Company, is looking for experienced CNC Machine Operators/Programmers (Machinists) to run 3- and 5-axis CNC machines in our state-of-the-art aerospace and automotive manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating and writing programs for 3- and 5-axis machines and will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, ability to take initiative, ability to work well in a team, and excellent attendance.
DUTIES
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Program CNC machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
- Set up CNC machines by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads
- Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Document actions by completing production timesheets
- Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Additional job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 2 years of previous experience operating and programming 3- and/or 5-axis CNC machines required
- Ability to pass a drug test in compliance with the law
- Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law
