We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist located at our Fremont, OH site. This can be an entry level opportunity or someone with experience in setting up and running CNC Mills and Lathes. We are looking for someone who has worked with CNC machinery in the past. Our CNC Machinists maintain, set-up, and operate equipment by maximizing machine utilization and produce parts to required specifications per the production schedule.

We have a clean, modern, and fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art facility with advanced technologies and are a progressive design manufacturer of custom tooling for the high-volume food service and packaging industries.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, setup, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC machine tools (3-5 axis milling; mill/turn lathes; surface grinding, jig grinding, ID/OD grinding; and wire EDM).
  • Perform complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
  • Understand feeds, speeds, tooling and operational sequences.
  • Review part process and program off-line for potential problems before they occur.
  • Read and understand multi-view drawings and blueprints.
  • Perform needed metrology inspections and report issues.
  • Set-up and monitor multiple machines.
  • Fully understand fit and function of components to ensure proper function of assemblies.
  • Work with minimum supervision in regard to technical assistance.
  • Use exceptional problem-solving skills and offer potential solutions when faced with adversity.
  • Responsible, as part of the production team, for meeting performance goals for scrap, rework, labor efficiency and downtime.
  • Required Qualifications

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma.
    • Strong desire to learn and master high tech machining.
    • General understanding and ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
    • General mechanical knowledge preferably in a CNC machining environment.
    • Proficient in reading CNC G-Code language preferred.

    Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

    • Lift, push, and pull up to 30 - 50 lbs. occasionally.
    • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
    • Stand 50% of the time.
    • Walk for extended periods of time
    • May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, performs sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two-year degree in a technical field or journeyman's card as a machinist, tool maker, or equivalent experience; 4 years or more of military service in a technical specialty.
    • Understanding of a CAD/CAM working environment.
    • Reading programming CNC G-code language.
    • Mechanically inclined and a motivated self starter.
    • Experience with Fanuc controls.
    • Ability/availability to work an off-shift schedule if required.

    Compensation details: 18-28 Hourly Wage
