PURPOSE:To operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling machines to rough and finish machine castings, and complete targeting machining to meet customer and PCC specifications.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Sets up and runs multiple CNC milling machines as needed.2. Completes cleanup and preventative maintenance of machines during programmed machine runs.3. Edits and develops CNC programs.4. Coordinates and oversees new CNC program testing and debugging.5. Creates and implements production procedures, documentation and communications.6. Checks tool offsets and controller program functions.7. Reviews and follows technique cards, set-up cards and tooling sheets.8. Selects proper tooling for machine operation as directed.9. Ensures quality of tooling.10. CC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Training must be completed, as assigned.11. Meets all production and quality standards.12. Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety and health evaluations and programs.13. Regular and predictable attendance.14. Required overtime.15. Performs other task as directed. QUALIFICATIONS:1. Completion of CNC machine technology program and at least 2 year of machining experience including targeting, CNC machining and programing and blue print reading, or an equivalent combination of classroom education, apprenticeship and experience.2. Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on Technique cards, job plans, Quality Control Manuals, blueprints and drawings. 3. Ability to perform advanced shop math.4. Ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues as they arise.5. Thorough knowledge of tooling and set-up procedures.6. Ability to work independently, with limited supervision.7. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to interact/coordinate activities with others.8. Ability to read and use mechanical measuring devices.9. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.NOTE: Employee must supply their own full compliment of hand tools to satisfactorily meet quality requirements of the position./*generated inline style */ Primary Duties & Responsibilities 1. Setup Objective : to accurately set up castings for radiography. Essential Job Functions :
Checks routing or requests to determine x-ray needs on parts. Reviews Technique Cards to determine setup requirements, including x-ray techniques, part positions and Film/IP requirements based on Techniques Cards. Sets up additional radiographs of defect areas not covered by Technique Cards. Inspect condition and maintain Film/IP and cassettes. Follow proper handling techniques. Sets up castings on tables in x-ray machines including fixturing, placement of Film/IP's, and DICOM tag identification and penetrameters on Film/IP; sets exposure parameters. Determines priority of radiographs to be taken. Develops best practice setup requirements for newly developed techniques when needed. Visually inspects castings for dirt, penetrant, grinding debris etc. 2. X-Ray Operation Objective : to effectively and accurately operate x-ray machines and produce radiographs within customer specifications. Essential Job Functions : Operates x-ray machine control panels and equipment to take multiple views of castings, adjusting radiographic variables such as tube height, voltage and exposure times within customer specifications. Monitor, Maintain, and generate exposures for System Qualifications on X-ray equipment per customer and PCC specifications. Regularly conducts more than one radiographic examination concurrently, and is expected to be able to operate all machines. Removes Film/IP from casting for image processing, while maintaining proper Film/IP handling techniques . After image processing, checks samples of radiographs on each casting for inner fearing Artifacts, clarity, coverage, pixel value and sensitivity; makes changes within customer and PCC specifications; records any changes made; reshoots exposure when needed. Willingness to be audited without notice by all Auditors both PCC Internal and External auditing groups. e.g. PCC NDTE, NADCAP, ISO 9000,etc. Trains, mentors, and assists less skilled Radiographers with setup and operational techniques as needed and assigned. (Marginal job function in NDTE departments) Completes logs and records, and records any modifications to Technique Card specifications. Meets all production and quality standards. 3. Safety Objective : to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices; to comply with PCC radiation safety practices. Essential Job Functions : Adheres to plant and department safety rules. Safely operates all equipment and tools. Identifies and reports safety problems. 4. OTHER (MARGINAL) ACCOUNTABILITIES Performs other tasks as directed and other x-ray department personnel activities. Radiography Level 1 Courses must be completed (radiation safety, digital method training, etc.) Radiographer Level l Certification must be completed for all modalities (Film, CR, DDA). Must re-certify - Level 1 every five years. /*generated inline style */ Required Skills Radiography skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of all duties OR an equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience. High school graduation of GED (necessary for NDT Certification) Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to read, follow and interpret Technique Cards, Quality Control Manuals and other technical specifications. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
