Job Description :
General Function Responsible for supporting the production operations of the plant. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
  • Support the Company's Goals and Objectives
  • Required to operate machinery in various CNC machining centers
  • Sets machine controls according to program and installs fixtures
  • Responsible for set-up, repairing tooling and troubleshoot machines in their cell area
  • Required to understand, know and apply the knowledge to all machines, machine processes, and their functions in their work area
  • Makes preliminary check on first piece, adjusts tools to maintain proper dimensions and part quality overall
  • Responsible for fully completing and updating all paperwork on daily basis (production reports, PPLH, TAKT, scrap reports, housekeeping check sheets, etc.)
  • Manually positions and removes tools as prescribed
  • Responsible for quality of all production parts produced at their station
  • Required to perform all quality checks on production as specified by Quality Control
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe
  • Responsible for reporting any quality defects to the Team Leader, General Production Supervisor, or Production Supervisor
  • Must be able to sustain the fast paced demands of an automotive production environment
  • Serves in the capacity of waste water handler commensurate with completion of proper training
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader
Knowledge and Skills
  • Must possess working CNC knowledge to include troubleshooting, and adjusting robot positions using the teach pendant
  • Usage of a computer and other workplace machinery such as a SAP hand held scanners, calculators, printers, and calipers (micrometers)
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
Education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pursuit of college coursework or education in skilled trades preferred
Experience
  • Requires at least one (1) year experience as CNC machinist
  • 2 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting preferred
