Job Title: CNC Programmer/Machinist

Summary: The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for developing CNC programs using Solidworks, Mastercam and CIMCO Edit to support Operations and Research & Development. This position is responsible for performing fabrication set-ups of all specialized tooling/equipment and process improvements including cycle time reductions and fixturing improvements to reduce set-up time.

Responsibilities:

Create all machining and inspection programs for R&D and production dimpled hobs for CNC equipment including wire and sinker EDM. Create and enhance existing CNC programs for production parts, as well as ball mold cavities for CNC equipment such as milling machines and lathes. Optimize CNC programs, machining processes, and fixtures to support precision manufacturing of parts with extremely tight tolerances Troubleshoot broken or malfunctioning machines and equipment.

Set up and operate CNC machines including CNC lathes, Twin Spindle lathes, and wire EDM. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures to support precision manufacturing. Complete tasks including dimensional and visual inspections to part specifications and make necessary program and process adjustments.

Complete QA tasks including dimensional and visual inspections to part specifications and make necessary program and process adjustments. Work with QA technicians and R&D engineers to development new inspection programs for CMM machines.

Train machine operations to new associates. Support training development of associates on the operation of CNC equipment as required. Maintain operation of equipment and perform PMs as required.

Education:

Vocational school graduate of Machine Shop or Machine and Tool Technology or equivalent secondary school curriculum required. CNC Machinist training or successful completion of a CNC Machinist program at a Technical school required. Entry level Mastercam training required.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in programming required. Minimum of 3 years experience in machining to include at least 2 years setting up CNC machines such as CNC lathes, 5 axis milling machines, CNC wire machines, and 5 axis ram EDM machines required.

Requirements:

Must be willing to work overtime to meet production schedules. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with co-workers and management. Required to have own trade related tools to perform required tasks.

Special Credentials/Skills:

Preferred experience with HAAS, MATSUURA, MAZAK, NAKAMURA-TOME, FANUC, SODICK,HEXAGON, TRAK Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division and geometry. Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments to perform first article inspection. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, scales and CMM.Demonstrate strong understanding of blue print reading and geometric tolerancing. Must be adept at developing and modifying
