Job Description

COEFFICIENT is seeking to hire an Executive Director to lead the Electricity Customer Alliance (ECA), a coalition comprised of commercial, industrial, and residential energy customers. ECA seeks to convene, harness, and scale an aligned customer voice to expand and improve the nation's electricity systems, providing increased value to all energy customers.

Affordable, reliable, and cleaner electricity is vital to drive the U.S.' growing digital economy, support the domestic manufacturing resurgence, and assist the electrification of transportation and buildings. ECA is strategically positioned to help federal policymakers develop solutions to better align economic and electric infrastructure development, promote customer-centric reliability solutions, protect customer affordability, and enable the digital economy.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a respected leader with a deep understanding of the electric sector and the policy and market issues that impact its transition and growth.

The candidate will support COEFFICIENT's current management of the ECA, including:

· Mission: Effectively promoting ECA's mission through policy advocacy, developing strategic education and communication campaigns, and collaborative leadership.

· Governance: Developing a strong partnership with ECA's Steering Committee Members and Advisory Council; working closely and collaboratively with them and COEFFICENT, overseeing the organization's growth and the achievement of its mission.

· Talent Management: Strategically managing and, as resources allow, increasing ECA's staff resources to cost-effectively enhance the organization's ability to promote its mission, principles, and member engagement.

· Industry Ambassador: Serving an industry spokesperson in the media and before federal and state governmental bodies, specifically maintaining and enhancing ECA's profile as a key strategic voice representing a diverse cross segment of the nation's electricity customers.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be an action-oriented hands-on leader with a demonstrated track record of successfully and effectively managing an organization. The candidate must also demonstrate an ability to coordinate strong advocacy aimed at positively impacting and influencing public policy.

· Industry Experience: Possess a deep understanding of the legislative and/or regulatory issues facing the electricity industry. Priority consideration for candidates who have 15+ years of relevant experience in organized electricity markets or state electricity policy matters.

· Advocacy Experience: Experience leading the development of a comprehensive strategy for achieving public policy objectives. Experience with overseeing, coordinating, and deploying resources to achieve public policy objectives.

· Stakeholder Engagement: Experience developing consensus among diverse stakeholders, including right-of-center and left-of-center trade associations, environmental non-governmental organizations, and think tanks.

· Team Leadership: Experience providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams, including creating and managing a project plan with long- and short-term timelines. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

· Executive Presence and Communication: Strong presentation style with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to assess Steering Committee members' needs and develop and successfully implement solutions to bring greater value to membership.

· Education: A bachelor's degree is required. An advanced business, law, or graduate degree in the industry-related fields or public policy, is preferred.
