Collections Specialist - Creative Financial Staffing : Job Details

Collections SpecialistCFS is currently working with a large women's apparel firm in Dayton, New Jersey area. They are seeking an Accounts Receivable/Collections Analyst to join their team and add immediate value to the firm working with their high-end customers.

About the Firm:

• They're one of the most established global distributors of high-end fashion apparel and accessories
• The role is located in Dayton, New Jersey and will be in office full time- parking lot on site
• This role will sit with the Accounts Receivable / Chargeback team. The group has a strong family feel, many being with the organization for over 15 years

Key Responsibilities include:

• Collecting outstanding invoices and unauthorized or excessive deductions.
• Assignment of deductions to correct Division and Type/Reason code for accurate recording in the proper reserve accounts in the general ledger.
• Prepare and submit adjustments.
• Identify key opportunities for recovery or prevention of deductions.
• Prioritizing material issues and address with a sense of urgency.
• Negotiating exemptions with retailers
• Communicate/escalate issues to department management
• Recognize opportunity for change/improvement of process.
• Interpret shipping documents (POD for terms/reconciliation of liability for missing goods)

Experience Preferred:

• 3+ years relevant experience, strong collections experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables)
• Experience JD Edwards and AS400 a plus
