Collector - Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare : Job Details

The Collector is responsible for the collecting of patient accounts from all appropriate third party payers.# This position also generates bills/claims as needed and responds to patient, payer and other third party information requests.# This position is responsible for following up on all billed claims to ensure proper payment and posting,#following all Patient Accounts policies as well as performing all other duties as assigned.# This person reports to the Supervisor of Patient Accounts and the Director of Medical Billing. Responsibilities: Works credit balance report to ensure credits are handled timely and kept low. Cross trains with other billers/collectors in order to provide coverage if needed. Monitors and works insurance A/R (aging) and follows up on denials in order to keep A/R days low. Sends/follows up on claims daily and works all claim rejections/errors in order to assure all claims are processed timely. Works with patients regarding insurance/billing questions and addresses them in a professional manner. Responsible for balancing deposits to bank and related recordkeeping.
