Primary Purpose
Coordinate all activities involved with the color guard and winter guard, including planning, recruiting, instructing, budgeting, visual planning, dance, body movement, and fine arts administrative tasks.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
High School Diploma or GED
CPR/AED Certification (or be willing to obtain)
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certification (or be willing to obtain)
Special Knowledge/Skills
Detailed knowledge of the Texas Color Guard Circuit and UIL policies related to Color Guard
Strong organizational and communication skills
Student centered and collaborative educator
Experience
5 years of Drum Corp International/Winter Guard International performance or teaching experience
Three years of job-related experience preferred
Dance teaching and education experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Support
Responsible for the planning and daily classroom instruction of the color guard classes and rehearsals
Responsible for the evaluation and assessment of individual students
Administration of the color guard program
Responsible for all equipment, body strengthening, and performance training
Direct and attend all rehearsals and performances
Work with the head band director to formulate an annual budget for each school year
Supervise color guard students during games and competitions, including travel
Oversee a process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all color guard equipment and maintaining of yearly inventory
Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students in alignment with the Clear Creek Independent School District core values
Establish and maintain open communication with all stakeholders, but not limited to, band directors, parents, students, fine arts admin, principals, and teachers.
Actively recruit and promote at feeder intermediate schools and assigned high school campus.
