Job Title: Color Matcher

Job Description

Seeking a Lab Technician to help with Quality Control testing for a color and plastic additives manufacturing lab. The technician will be responsible for performing various tests including viscosity, color, spectrophotometer, and titration. Responsibilities also include Excel documentation and using SAP.

1. Perform color matching assigned by the Lab Manager at a high level of quality within the requested time, using approved methods and following FIFO rules. Blend samples to ship to customers for tests and evaluations.

2. In cooperation with the Lab Manager, issue SDS, TDS, and QC documentation, and prepare any declarations requested by customers. Be responsible for filing and updating technical documentation.

3. Ensure samples are labeled correctly.

4. Ensure the availability and accessibility of documentation related to the toxicity and classification of products and raw materials. Manage and provide support to customers on environmental issues related to production applications.

5. Regularly follow up on samples to determine if the product meets the customers production process and color shade requirements. Find solutions if adjustments are necessary.

6. Perform Quality Control tests on finished products to ensure quality consistency and compliance with customer specifications.

7. Verify the approval or rejection of all incoming raw materials to ensure they meet technical specifications agreed upon with suppliers.

8. Contribute to defining the specifications of new products.

9. Provide technical support and assistance through site visits to customers and General/Sales Managers when requested by the Lab Manager.

10. During site visits, report back to the Lab Manager about any applicative and technological knowledge that may improve laboratory activities.

11. Represent the company at tradeshows or events when requested.

12. In cooperation with the Lab Manager, investigate product complaints from customers, propose corrective or preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.

13. Manage and control the calibration of all laboratory equipment.

14. Perform tests and suggest instructions for recovering non-compliant products returned by customers or non-compliant production material.

15. Ensure proper and correct information flow to other colleagues to increase the technical function of the laboratory.

16. Keep the workplace and lab instruments clean and tidy.

17. Ensure all data regarding new formulations are completed in SAP in a timely manner.

18. Perform other duties as requested by the Lab Manager.
