They can switch between Stick, MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding, each suited for different jobs.Standard DutiesUsing arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches, welds together metal components and alloys such as pipelines, boilers for a variety of complex precision assemblies.Involves a considerable amount of welding to high strength and pressure requirements.Joins together components of fabricated sheet metal assemblies; cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layout, work orders, or blueprints.RequirementsHigh school degree or equivalent education/experience plus three years trade related experience preferred.Certification required.Clean driving record.CapabilitiesSkilled in general mechanical abilities.Must be able to read blueprints; layout to tight tolerances.Must be able to weld 6G and pass a proficiency test.Physical RequirementsStanding, bending, stooping, lifting up to 70 lbs.Equipment to be UsedArc welders, gas welders, gas torches.NoteDuties and skills required for this position are general and describe the principal functions, levelof knowledge and skills required of this job.
