Job Type Part-timeDescriptionThe Teen & Early Intervention Specialist, under direct supervision of the Comin Up Site Director, is responsible for teen programming and early intervention. Responsibilities include programming; recruitment and member services; early intervention; leadership and development; mentorship; paperwork and data entry; relationships and safety.The Comin' Up Gang Intervention Program serves at-risk and gang-involved youth between the ages of 12-18 years in Fort Worth communities. The goal of the Comin' Up Gang Intervention Program is to positively impact the lives of at-risk and gang-involved youth by providing needs-based services and activities to reduce the level of gang violence in the City of Fort Worth.Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Comin Up Programming:
  • Accountable for assigned programming and activities
  • Accountable for quality programming and activities
  • Actively participate on multi-disciplinary team
Facility and Child Safety:
  • Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
  • Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
  • Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance:
  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.
  • Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
  • Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
  • Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
  • Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
Relationships:
  • Be a positive role model
  • Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner
RequirementsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience with youth (professional or volunteer), experience with teens preferred
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
  • Ability to work evening and night hours
  • Ability to be a positive role model
  • Ability to connect with others quickly; ability to establish rapport and build relationships
  • Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct
  • Ability to follow instructions and conform to policies and procedures
  • Ability to relate to at-risk youth
  • Ability to set expectations and boundaries
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any time
  • Must have satisfactory driving record and valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual
  • Currently certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Knowledge of problems and barriers at-risk youth face
  • Youth development experience and/or Boys & Girls club experience
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary: $15.00 hourly (Part-Time, Non-Exempt)
  • Benefits: Eligible for Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay
