Position Overview The Commercial Assistant responsibilities include assisting theCommercial Lending Team to deliver loan requests to Credit Administration,support in expediting loan closings, support in portfolio monitoring andmanagement, and support in commercial loan servicing. Responsibilities alsoinclude data input into customer relationship management software and loanoperating systems, collection of source documentation, and virtual file andpipeline management for new and existing commercial loans s. A positive, motivatedteam-player who works both individually and as part of a high performing teamto assist in achieving the Commercial Lending Department's objectives toachieve the goals of on-time loan delivery, loan monitoring, and servicinginternal and external customers with a high level of accuracy and Six Diamond service. The Commercial Assistant may handlecommunication between Commercial Relationship Managers and clients, internalbusiness partners, and third parties. This is a universal position designed andintended to have the opportunity to rotate between and gain exposure to allaspects and teams within Commercial Lending. This position will learn andmaster job roles and responsibilities with instruction, education, andoversight from supervisor and/or other experienced associates.Roles and Responsibilities Relationship Management
- Update client relationship management and pipeline/tracking applications with data input for new business development calls and potential loan requests
- Collect financial information to support expeditious loan closings
- Create loan records in commercial loan application
- Manage loan production pipeline reports
- Assist with monthly expenses for the team and special projects from time to time
- Refer potential prospects to other internal business partners within the bank
- Receive/track/upload management reports
- Produce letter of interest once the loans are approved and send out to the CMR/Client once is signed by management.
- Package and complete all required tabs before submitting the file to sales credit for review.
Loan Processing Support
- Support Commercial Relationship Managers and engage borrowers to obtain required data to underwrite and document a loan request
- Prepare due diligence checklist and understand the purpose and reasoning for each document requested
- Responsible for ensuring entity documents are received for loan documentation
- Track receipt and completeness of borrower and property due diligence
- Upload and track loan documents and loan status in commercial loan application
- Responsible for completing HMDA and other compliance requirements, including preparing loan withdraw/decline packages
Loan Portfolio Monitoring
- Support Commercial Relationship Managers and engage borrowers to obtain required data to monitor loans
- Identify financial reporting and monitoring covenants for newly originated loans and renewals and ensure that covenants are set-up accurately in loan application. Delete covenants from tracking as loans are re-paid.
- Lead client outreach efforts to collect covenant related items for all loan types.Outreach efforts to include letter campaigns for CRE and MF and various contact methodologies (including letters, e-mail, telephone, in-person contact or other shared portal) for C&I
- Review financial information when received to ensure completeness and upload to commercial loan application
- Assist with credit review and audit requests
Loan Servicing
- Support Commercial Relationship Managers and engage borrowers to resolve servicing issues
- Maintain, update, and safeguard customer information in accordance with bank policy and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- Some Banking Knowledge preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge and identification of various types of financial statements, tax returns, and entity documents.
- Experience with commercial lending and banking policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment and to follow- up.
- Ability to deliver quality work product within established timeframes and to communicate to stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to details.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude and ability to deliver excellent service to internal business partners and clients.
- Some experience working with a Windows-based computer environment, and knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Ecos.
