About the Role:
The Commercial Loan Specialist will be responsible for reviewing all loan packages and documentation received from the Closing Department. They identify and rectify any data or documentation issues before and after the loans are boarded to ensure completeness of the loan files and accuracy of data entered into the loan origination and core systems.
They assist with the review and distribution of data and reports and statements generated from the Core and Loan Origination Systems to ensure data integrity. They work closely with Commercial Lending Officers, Underwriters, Closing, Portfolio, Fiscal and the Loan Operations Team to ensure data quality and regulatory and policy requirements are met.
Primary and Essential Functions
* Collaborate with the Loan Closing Team to ensure all completed loan packages are received within a specified time after loan closing
* Monitor and Review detailed System Reports and Statements to ensure accuracy
* Monitor the Cancellation of Recorded documents as applicable ensuring that all Liens are released efficiently
* Ensure all Modifications, Renewals and Extensions are received and processed
* Responsible for review of daily maintenance of loans in the Commercial Loan System
* Reviewing and Monitoring Payments
* Ensure Loan Closing packages are reviewed and distributed efficiently after loans are Boarded
* Maintain all Paper and Digital Commercial Files to ensure all required documents are in order and complete
* Assist with all Internal and External Audits
* Ensure Accurate and timely processing of all Invoices received
* Complete Special Projects as assigned by Management
* Provide support to the AVP and VP of Commercial Loan Operations
* Take necessary action to resolve deficiencies and escalate questions/concerns to appropriate level when needed
* Adapt to change in the work environment, manage competing demands and handle frequent changes
* Process and respond to all incoming methods of communication in a timely and professional manner
* Assures compliance with all Credit Union policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations; adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position
* Perform general administrative duties such as attending meetings in person and/or via WebEx
* Perform research and produce reports when necessary or requested by members of the department
* Fulfill other requests from manager/supervisor
* Follow and recommend updates to loan processing procedures.
Required Qualifications
* Associate's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
* Five (5) years of experience in the Financial Services industry
* Five (5) years of experience working in Loan operations, Loan Processing or Loan Servicing.

* Accuracy and completeness of initial reports for commercial loan requests.

* Skilled in the use of NextGen loan origination and document warehousing system.
* Skilled in the use of Loan Servicing System (Nortridge NLS), and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
