Commercial Operations ManagerExton, PA (Hybrid)The Commercial Operations Manager will drive data-driven decision making in dsm-firmenich Biomedical by delivering cross functional analytical and decision support services including advanced reporting, commercial analysis, and data management. The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for managing commercial master data as a key expert across technology platforms (e.g. SAP, CRM, Tableau, Excel, Power BI, Accolade) to enable and deliver integrated commercial, financial & operational forecasting, enterprise analytics, commercial demand management, market intelligence services and budgetary support.   • Leads as a key hands-on expert all areas of commercial business performance management including shipping alignment, budgetary support, forecast consolidation and commercial performance reporting.
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of DSM Biomedical revenue and unit forecasts, driving engagement with the Commercial Development team to ensure up-to-date insights on customer demand.
    • Drive organizational transparency for this data through dashboarding and reporting deliverables, on-demand, and ongoing analytical needs.
    • Drive forecast accuracy by identifying outliers using statistical methods and verifying or adjusting the forecast accordingly.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely reporting on essential business metrics across the organization with focus on (but not limited to) commercial, financial & operational demands.
  • Assist in month-/quarter-end closing activities, as well as S&OP, through provision of sales forecasts and forecast variance analysis.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for any data integrity issue, investigation, and resolution.
  • Recommends improvements and/or alternative solutions to streamline data processing and QC activities.
  • Brainstorm new and creative report and analytical offerings in support of business growth strategies, including but not limited to:
    • Incorporating cross-functional data enabling consolidated overviews of customers, products, or projects (as examples)
    • Working across the business team to merge internal data with external insights.
    • Incorporating data from external sources such as digital campaigns, industry meetings, and ad hoc data acquisitions.
    • Improving end-to-end visibility of our customer journey by interconnecting commercial reporting across the entirety of the PtO and OtC spectrum.
  • Partner with IT architects to translate business needs into systems and data support structures.
  • Collaborates with Digital Team focused on process optimization driving efficiencies.

You Bring:
  • BS/BA degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or Business required.
  • (5+ years) understanding and experience across commercial, financial and operational business areas and functional support systems (SAP, CRM, MRP, Business Warehouse)
  • Experience designing and delivering advanced executive support services including data integration, report design, dashboarding and data discovery using tools such as Excel, Business Warehouse, SAP and/or Tableau.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management best practices, and report design/development.
  • High level of conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with diverse databases, data models and structures; strong data quality methodology and data modelling skills.
  • Advanced quantitative skill set and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience and working in a matrix structure.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to translate stakeholder vision and reporting needs into efficient tactical steps and report formation.
  • Enthusiastic about working with new tools and analytical approaches to proactively offer novel solutions to internal business partners.
