POSITION SUMMARY:The Downstream Team is hiring for the role of Commercial Optimization Analyst. We are looking for a commercially minded person who is detail oriented and interested in optimizing a world-class asset and contract portfolio.The Optimization Analyst will support the Downstream Team in managing the transportation, fractionation, and purity product flows across Targa's broad system with volumetric, contractual, and financial analyses. This includes the ownership of near-term and long-term supply & demand forecasts for Y-grade, purity products, and participation in long-term asset growth planning.JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tracking and analyses of product flows across the portfolio, including providing thoughtful analysis of trends
- Support and build extensive Excel models, supporting the current business and any future ad hoc projects
- Owning updates to important commercial and asset databases used by commercial and optimization teams
- Tracking and confirmation of new deals and assistance in ensuring correct application of complex contractual terms
- Financial analysis of proposed contracts and assets
- Preparation of presentation materials for customers and executives
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- 0 -2 years of experience
- Excellent ability to coordinate data between groups inside and outside of the Targa Downstream business unit
- Comfortable presenting financial and commercial analysis to executive management
- Financial modeling experience
- System Experience (ex: RightAngle, SAP, etc) experience (helpful, not required)
- Regular and reliable attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 Years of experience in NGL distribution
- 4 Year college degree
