This role requires strong analytical and mathematical skills, as well as a deep understanding of the construction industry. The ideal candidate should have experience in construction estimating and be familiar with industry standards and best practices. This position is vital to ensuring the success and profitability of construction projects in the Denver area.Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates
- Prepare detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering suggestions
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of bids to clients
- Track and monitor project costs to ensure they align with estimated budgets
- Communicate with clients and project teams regarding any changes or updates to estimates
- Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and pricing for materials and labor
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an estimator in the construction industry
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Familiarity with construction estimating software and tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of industry standards and best practices for estimating
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred)
