This position will be accountable for successfully investigating, reserving, assigning, and settling first party commercial property losses while delivering superior customer service
The ideal candidate will handle all claims virtually (will not visit loss locations)
This position will ensure quality standards are met with vendors utilized to adjudicate the claim
Claim File Management
+ Investigating commercial property (CP) claims to determine coverage, damages, and subrogation/salvage
+ Handling of personal property damage and time element losses with policyholders and their representatives
+ Consistently provide high-quality customer service
+ Meet or exceed expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
+ Properly assess the exposure of assigned claims
+ Utilize organization and communication skills to effectively resolve assignments, manage claim deadlines, and appropriately manage vendors
+ Develop technical and jurisdictional expertise, including knowledge of independent adjusters, contractors, vendors, etc.
+ Set appropriate and timely file reserves
+ Identify fraud indicators and initiate investigation
+ Negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with internal and external customers
+ Always demonstrate professionalism and establish credibility when interacting with customers; personally enhance The Hartford's reputation in the marketplace
+ Embrace a culture of continuous improvement
+ Leverage contemporary technology to achieve accurate and efficient claim outcomes

Qualifications:
+ College degree or equivalent work experience
+ 1 year+ first party property claim handling experience required (commercial preferred)

Additional Information:
+ This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.? Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Scottsdale, AZ, and Naperville, IL) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
+ As a condition of employment - Paid training for this position starts 1/13/25 and you will be required to successfully complete a six-week New Hire Training Course which includes one week in person training. You should have no schedule conflicts during training. You must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims in the states supported by your office. You will be required to successfully pass the Licensing exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the licensing training, where applicable.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$62,560 - $93,840
