Job TitleCommercial Solutions – Program Management Office (PMO) – Vendor Management Director• The Commercial Solutions, business-to-business (‘B2B') payments space represents a significant opportunity for Mastercard. To enable Mastercard to deliver value in this space it needs to think big and bold, innovate with intention, deliver scalable solutions, and move fast to exceed our clients' expectations.• Mastercard is focused on developing partnerships, a platform vision, and an approach to address historic pain points around B2B Payments, as well as to create new value delivery opportunity at multiple levels, in ways that go beyond payment.• The PMO is responsible for 5 pillars supporting the Commercial Solutions B2B payments business: Executive Reporting, Partnership Commercialization, Product Strategy and Governance, Post-Acquisition Integration, and Vendor Performance Management Role• The PMO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director level candidate to focus on the Vendor Management Pillar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our vendor management strategy and ensuring that we maintain strong relationships with our external partnersKey responsibilities include:1. Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management strategy, aligned with Commercial Solutions business objectives and growth plans2. Prepare regular reporting on Commercial Solutions vendors to senior management3. Work in partnership with Engineering, Product, and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) teams to onboard vendors into the firms central vendor database (Coupa) and maintain responsibility for vendor onboarding diligence and governance tasks for all Commercial Solutions owned vendors 4. Partner with global product teams to build the right value proposition for clients5. Align with regional product stakeholders to ensure appropriate go-to-market6. Identify with the vendors product evolutions required to meet market expectations and collaborate with product teams for impact assessment7. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors, ensuring that they meet or exceed our performance expectations and contractual obligations8. Participate in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with vendors focusing on cost optimization, quality, and service delivery9. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate vendor performance and drive continuous improvement10. Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies by partnering with Sourcing on enterprise initiatives and process improvements 11. Regularly assess the Commercial Solutions vendor portfolio, conducting market research and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential issues12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, product, sourcing, and third party risk management (TPRM) to ensure that vendor management processes and policies are effectively implemented and maintained 13. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in vendor management, and proactively recommend improvements to our systems and processes All About YouEssential knowledge, skills and experience:• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field• Demonstrated prior experience in vendor management or procurement, with a focus on the payments services industry• Proven track record of establishing and leading successful vendor management functions• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts and agreements• Ability to work independently through ambiguity to influence change • Familiarity with technology risks including Cloud technologies • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision making• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to vendor management and procurementDesirable or additional capabilities: • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of one or more key B2B corporate business areas, how they work and commercials, specifically: commercial card solutions, corporate travel and spend management, treasury solutions (transaction banking), and embedded finance solutions • Business to business (B2B) network and solution awareness• Proficiency with Coupa, Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software• Working knowledge of Archer or similar Third Party Risk Management platforms• Experience identifying, assessing and mitigating vendor financial risk• Experience managing executive stakeholders in a large, complex organization • Strong program and project management skills• Working knowledge of Smartsheet, including the ability to create project plans, reports, and dashboardsIn the US, Mastercard is an inclusive Equal Employment Opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
