Artemis is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist with experience writing and editing a variety of materials for a large-scale project in a consulting environment. The ideal candidate will understand project management, communication, writing, branding and consulting best practices. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing a variety of communications products including, but not limited to, communications plans, newsletters, editorial calendars, programmatic short documents, social media, videos and more.
The role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.
This is a contingent hire position.
This position is remote. However, travel for occasional in-person meetings may be required.
- Assist with the development of a communications plan designed to lay the foundation of a large-scale communications campaign.
- Translate complex scientific messaging into plain language to ensure materials are easy to read, understand and use.
- Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including client leadership.
- Make recommendations to improve the performance of products.
- Collect, interpret and synthesize content into plain language upon which audiences can quickly act.
- Create story-driven narratives that form the foundation of digital outreach campaigns.
- Recommend creative concept and new approaches for communication activities that incorporate leading best practices and methodologies.
- Ensure content conveys critical information and reflects key messaging in a standardized and consistent tone and voice.
- Review document for stylistic and formatting consistency.
- Ensure all products align with client style guides and federal plain language standards.
- 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- Proven experience leading communications and outreach campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience working with federal clients and C-level executives.
- Experience in developing communications and branding products such as communications plans, fact sheets, videos, newsletters, social media, editorial calendars and more.
- Demonstrated experience with industry-leading social media and e-newsletter platforms.
- Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
- Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
