Under supervision of the Public and Media Relations Office, this position assists with updating City websites, creating social media content, developing materials for print and digital newsletters, and supporting other communication projects. This position does not provide direction to other employees. - Write clear and captivating copy for use across various communication platforms.
- Assist with day-to-day updates to the City's website, ensuring accuracy, clarity and adherence to ADA standards.
- Conduct web audits to identify outdated information and suggest improvements for a better user experience.
- Create, schedule and post engaging social media content that highlights City events, services and initiatives.
- Monitor social media channels for public interaction, responding to inquiries or comments in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop materials for print and digital newsletters.
Job RequirementsEducation and Experience: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with one (1) year of experience in communication, marketing, or a related field, is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Supervision Exercised: General Supervision: Work is normally reviewed upon completion, with occasional spot checks while in process, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and conformance to established standards; autonomy is granted at the service or program level; work is subject to general and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
