FUNCTIONS
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication and branding strategy for the district, develops and maintains brand integrity across all platforms, and serves as the creator and/or editor of all internal and external marketing and communication initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/ CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSE
* Proven skills in written and oral communications.
* Ability to use current technology to produce written, visual and web-based materials.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience in communications, media, or public relations is desirable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the district's communication, marketing, and branding efforts.
* Lead the district's communication of crisis information.
* Lead the district's communication of crisis response plans.
* Develop and maintain the school's communications calendar.
* Oversee, develop and manage the content and layout of the school website.
* Oversee, develop, and manage the content of the school's social media channels.
* Work closely with school administrators to know what's happening around the school, and maintain communication regarding upcoming, recent, or important events and accomplishments.
* Work closely with the City of Box Elder, Ellsworth Air Force Base, and surrounding communities, to coordinate release of communication, and improve timeliness of information.
* Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets.
* Supervises and coordinates the preparation of school district publications, radio, television, and other audio, visual or online productions.
* Recommend, develop and maintain all communication strategies and campaigns.
* Assist in the development and release of information pertaining to school board meeting content.
* Assist in the writing and editing of documents, handbooks, newsletters, emails and voice messages intended for distribution to all patrons.
* Provide photography, writing and posting of any news copy and social media coverage of school events.
* Collect and analyze social media analytics.
* Periodically prepare presentations, and report efforts and progress to the Board of Education as needed.
* Advise Executive Leadership Team to ensure that program decisions are consistent with the school's communication strategy.
* Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the ED of Operations.
