See our full job description below:Job DescriptionJob Title:Community-Based SupervisorDepartment:Vocational Employment ServicesJob Grade:2Position Summary:Community-Based Supervisor works either one-on-one or with a group of developmentally disabled individuals as a role model, mentor and/or Production Supervisor. Facilitates the attainment of the individual's vocational potential which includes the maintenance of performance standards required by customers. Acts as liaison between individual (s), employer and The Arc Erie County New York as directed by Supervisor. Job locations can vary throughout Erie County; hours will vary and might include morning, afternoon and evenings, weekends and/or holiday hours.Reporting Relationship:Depending on assignment to a specific work location reports to either Enclave Manager, Plant Foreman, Production Management staff and/or Supported Employment Management staff.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instructs and assists individuals in developing social skills, work skills and work habits in a community based enclave setting.
- Works one-on-one with individuals as needed, to complete tasks and provide a positive work model.
- Orient individuals to new work settings to include; work routines, production demands, quality standards, breaks, lunches, use of equipment and/or facilities, etc.
- Monitors quantity and quality of work produced by individual at an enclave site to insure conformance with the customer's contract standards.
- Transports/escorts individuals to and from community work sites as needed and/or provide mobility training as required.
- Works with individuals on defined vocational goals and objectives, and assess progress monthly, or more frequently as directed by individual's Program Manager, progress to be documented in progress notes, signed, titled and dated/
- Assists individuals in the process of integrating into the work force through utilizing natural supports and assisting in active social participation with co-workers in both on and off site activities.
- Participates in case conferences, in-service training and case consultations with individual's Program Manager as needed.
- Acts as liaison between individual(s), employer and The Arc Erie County New York, as directed by Supervisor.
- Advocates and monitors work setting to insure safe and healthy work conditions, reports as needed to Supervisor.
- Make recommendations (job carving) to the employer and/or supervisor in adapting job duties to the abilities of the individual as needed to insure individual's employment.
- Maintains service, statistical, and administrative records including enclave hours, rate of pay and necessary data to complete billing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:Associate's Degree in Human Services, Business Administration or a related field.ORHigh school or equivalent diploma PLUS one year of full-time experience in a work setting training others. One year of full-time direct service experience with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.PLUSMust be Multi-Media First Aid Certified or receive certification within ninety (90) days from the date of hire. Must have a valid NYS Driver's license, approved driving record and reliable transportation to all parts of greater Erie County area.Essential Job Functions:

The ability to operate factory equipment, such as, pallet jacks, banding machines, sealers, air and electric hand powered equipment found on a assembly line, ability to work on in-line process at industrial rate, etc.; the ability to operate office equipment, such as, computer, copier, fax machine, etc.; operate agency trucks, buses, vans and cars to include use of wheelchair tie down systems; etc.; ability to come in contact with normal household dust/dirt, use of mower (rider and hand), weed wackers, and snow shoveling/leaf raking.Agency Principles:
