Job Description :
*Summary*In the role of Community Behavioral Health Liaison, you will be essential in engaging and coordinating services for people who are in contact with the justice system in Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, and Monroe counties.*Key Tasks and Responsibilities ** Engage and support clients who frequently interact with law enforcement, jails and court services.* Triage/Screen and manage client needs to provide the most clinically appropriate services in a timely manner.* Connect clients with needed resources and follow-up to ensure that their needs are met.* Attend agency and community meetings as assigned by supervisor.* Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local law enforcement, judicial staff and jails.* Document all interactions and contacts with clients according to agency and DMH standards.* Attend regular department and supervision meetings to stay up to date on agency and program changes.* Meet all internal and external reporting requirements including data collection for Quality Assurance evaluation and DMH reporting requirements.* Attend educational seminars and meetings related to professional advancement, including the state CIT conference.* Promote, organize and present for local CIT council trainings.* Participate in crisis on-call duties as needed* Other duties as requested by the supervisor/department director.*Skills and Attributes** Strong interpersonal engagement skills for adults and seniors.* The ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement, ambulance personnel, crisis call centers, crisis centers and hospitals.* Highly flexible and creative person who can work with a variety of situations and client populations.* Ability to manage a rapidly changing environment with regard to client presentation and respond with the appropriate level of support.* Strong interpersonal, clinical, and crisis intervention skills required.* Extensive knowledge of community resources* Strong verbal and written communication skills required.* Ability to engage and advocate for clients* Ability to organize and maintain written documentation according to agency requirements and in a timely fashion.* Basic computer skills with the ability to document in an electronic health record system as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.*Requirements ** A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, nursing, psychology, mental health, human services or similar degrees.
