Definition

This position manages a social work unit embedded in the 911 Call Center, on second shift 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, and will support program development and provide direct supervision for social workers in the call center. This position will work alongside social workers by responding to and triaging 911 crisis calls related to mental health and other social service needs for Columbus residents. The supervisor in this role is responsible for the implementation of policy and procedures, daily operation, and oversight for the crisis calls.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

+ Masters in Social Work, with a Licensed Social Work Supervisor (LISW-S) license.

+ Previous experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and strong familiarity with community based crisis work related to mental illness and substance use.

+ Strong skills in program development and management preferred.

+ Strong assessment and triage skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to work with diverse staff and community residents and multi-disciplinary teams.

Under general direction, is responsible for supervising licensed Community Clinical Counselors and staff assigned to a specific public health program, or geographical area; performs related duties as required.

Examples of Work

Supervises licensed Community Clinical Counselor staff and other health personnel to include signing performance evaluations, approving leave requests, and recommending disciplinary actions;

Plans day-to-day assignments of professional and non-professional social work and other health personnel; assists with assignments as needed;

Coordinates and participates in the performance of social work and clinical counseling activities;

Reviews reports and records of staff; evaluates staff performance; leads and participates in staff meetings;

Conducts staff training on issues related to social, emotional, and environmental factors that impact treatment, with a strong focus on evidence-based intervention;

Oversees individual and/or group training for licensed staff seeking to obtain independent licensure;

Confers with staff regarding social work and clinical counseling concerns and procedures;

Participates in agency health conferences, case conferences, and committees with other community organizations;

Participates in administrative, quality improvement, and safety activities;

Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient and family psychosocial issues;

Develops and implements individualized plans of service and treatment to address the identified behavioral/emotional needs of patients and families;

Maintains client records and coordinates patient care to reach desired outcomes;

Serves as an advocate for patients and families by obtaining needed services;

Attends meetings and professional development activities as required;

Acts as a consultant to others;

May be assigned to serve as a member of an Incident Command System (ICS) Team or similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a valid State of Ohio licensure by the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and one (1) year of licensed experience as stated above.

Upon completion of the probationary period, must possess a valid State of Ohio licensure by the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervisory designation (LISW-S) or Licensed Clinical Counselor with supervisor designation (LPCC-S).

Some positions may require possession of a valid drivers license.
