Summary/Objective Works closely with Community Conservation Team (CCT) to assist with partnering and helping citizens connect with nature.
Essential Job Duties - Works with the Community Conservation Team (CCT) and partners to help citizens connect with fish, forests, and wildlife where they live.
- Identifies and implements strategies to deliver community conservation to underserved populations and communities.
- Supports community conservation project and programs.
- Partners with other entities to provide training to inter-agency personnel concerning urban natural resource management.
- Works with MDC staff and partners to promote the establishment and/or maintenance of demonstration projects.
- Works with existing partner efforts to create green/conservation jobs education and employment opportunities
- Works with CCT to evaluate regional projects and allocate community conservation funding.
- Works with partners on regional planning efforts, advisory teams and planning committees
- Represents the Department at meetings, conferences, festivals, symposia and workshops as presenter and attendee.
- Develops and/or assists with the development of educational materials, plans, grant applications, etc.
Ancillary Job Duties - Serve on internal and external committees.

Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree in human dimensions, business administration, organizational development, biological sciences, communications, marketing, social sciences or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and various audio visual equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with partner groups, teachers and school administrators, civic and non-governmental organization leaders, members of the news media, Department personnel and the public.
- Ability to provide quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Work Environment - Regularly required to perform in outdoor conditions, where climates may be hot, cold, wet and/or humid.
Physical Abilities - Ability to move about grounds, both inside and outside of buildings.
- Consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
