Salary: $39,481.00 - $46,390.00 AnnuallyLocation : Chesterfield, VAJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 25-00249Department: Community Corrections ServicesOpening Date: 09/16/2024Closing Date: 9/29/2024 11:59 PM EasternMinimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; college coursework in business, criminal justice or social work, or a related field preferred; one year of experience in clerical work involving public contact, preferably in a corrections or public safety environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate's degree preferred; proficient in Word and Excel. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Duties Provides data entry and clerical support to pretrial/probation units, including criminal histories, which will require VCIN certification. Writing receipts for money order payments as received. Research court referrals and provide information to staff and customers. Greets and assists visitors with matters relative to department programs and services and responds to inquiries by phone and in person. Serves as backup for other clerical staff. Performs other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
