Under the general direction and supervision of the Quality Supervisor who oversees the Alaska Breast and Cervical (AK B+C) Cancer Screening Assistance Program, this position is responsible for providing external outreach and community visits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in human services preferred; Ability to clearly communicate. Cultural competence in working with diverse populations required.
Experience
Experience in education, health, human services, or customer service.
Essential Functions:
* Report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Remain at work for their entire work schedule.
* Implements and supports outreach activities and strategies consistent with the agency's goals and objectives. Including going outside in inclement weather and door to door in targeted neighborhoods to provide educational materials and outreach to patients.
* Provides one-on-one assistance to enroll individuals in the AK B+C Cancer Screening Assistance Program, as well as linkage via scheduling, transportation, and other resource connection services to reduce barriers.
* Informs individuals and the community about the agency's mission and services, including connecting them with ICHC's primary care services.
* Conducts community events at human services settings, churches, etc., to educate individuals on breast and cervical cancer screening, provide patient navigation services and enroll patients in the Alaska Marketplace and Medicaid.
* Links individuals with eligibility assistance.
* Enroll and complete the Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program through the Alaska Primary Care Association.
* Attends outreach trainings, meetings and conference calls.
* Maintains accurate records and generates reports on individual and community contacts and project-related expenses.
* Remains current on AK B+C cancer screening recommendations and ICHC's services.
* Works as an integrated multidisciplinary team member.
* Participates in meetings.
* Complies with Center's policies and procedures.
* Utilizes personal computer and specialized office equipment according to procedure.
* Other duties as assigned.

Understanding and commitment to the uninsured population and the goals and mission of the Interior Community Health Center.
Demonstrated ability to work with multi-aged and multicultural populations.
Ability to work flexible hours and walk and drive in inclement weather.
Have an automobile and meet agency auto use requirements.
Proficiency in computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficient with use of common office equipment (copier, fax, printer, etc.).
Proficiency with cell phone including making three way calls for language interpretation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Position is based in the City of Fairbanks; however, position responsibilities may require travel both within the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) and Denali Borough. Use of personal vehicle is required for travel; therefore, a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required. Position may require working occasional evenings and weekends.
