Job Description
  • Promotes a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR policy 113c)
  • Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion
  • Responds to calls and inquiries regarding External Affairs Department activities or programs both internal external.
  • Helps coordinates any events and/or projects that the External Affairs Department hosts or assist with
  • Provides follow up outreach calls and/or emails to our SBH Community Events participants
  • Participating and organizing participants to participate in Community Outreach events, which may include weekends and/or holidays. Some of the events may include:
  • Diversity Events-e.g. PRIDE, Hispanic Heritage, Juneteenth, etc.
  • Wellness Alliance- held virtually monthly
  • Employee Appreciation Day
  • Informative Tabling
  • Health Awareness events
  • Back to school events
  • Provide instructions and guidance to patients/participants throughout the hospital as needed
  • Ability to assist with other Patient Engagement activities throughout the hospital as needed
  • Assist department in various responsibilities in the absence of co-workers
  • Assist the Administrative Director of Patient Community Engagement with all Interns and SYEP/1199 Summer Youth participants
  • Maintain various departmental spreadsheets up to date in TEAMS
  • Attend daily/weekly staff meetings
  • Attend monthly Community Board # 5 and 6 meetings and relate crucial details back to department
  • Requirements
  • Education Required
  • Associates Degree/ Bachelors in Healthcare
  • Experience/Skills Required
  • Bilingual Preferred- Proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of various Office Products (excel, word, PowerPoint, teams, outlook)
  • Able to work independently and with flexibility
