Do you have nursing experience working in a community setting? Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) is currently hiring a Registered Nurse 2 Community for Outpatient Treatment Services.

CDPC, a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment and rehabilitation to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, outpatient treatment services for children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and operates adult community residences in the Albany/Capital District area. CDPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations.

The Registered Nurse 2 Community is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services including:

  • Managing cases and providing mental health counseling and wellness services to clients in an outpatient setting.
  • Developing and maintaining individual service plans.
  • Serving as a liaison between individual and community entities to facilitate comprehensive recovery resources.
  • Providing health related education in group settings, as well as individual teaching.
  • Assisting with metabolic monitoring, injections, provides supervision and assistance to LPN staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, and
  • 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience;1 year of this experience must have been providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
  • Substitution: Bachelor's degree in nursing can substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing can substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Neither degree substitutes for the required 1 year of specialized community nursing experience.
