Community Outreach Specialist PRN - University Health : Job Details

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIESWorks with the Injury Prevention staff, to provide effective and comprehensive research-based education to families in the community on child passenger safety (CPS). This person will utilize the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidelines for CPS education - selection, direction, location, installation, and harnessing. This person will work on a PRN basis to help Injury Prevention staff with child safety seat inspections and Safe Kids events throughout the community.EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCEExperience in injury prevention education in a community health setting is preferred. Experience in public and/or educational presentations, individually or in groups, demonstrating effective communication skills is required. English/Spanish fluency is preferred. Child passenger safety technician certification within 6 months of hire is required. Must have at least 3 months experience.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONA valid Texas State DL operator's license is Class C and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
