Job Description :
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as special assistant to the Community Schools Senior Director: drafts and submits correspondence; assists in maintaining the Senior Director's schedule and appointments; makes copies; and completes other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares agendas for various meetings (i.e. Zone, CS Planning Meeting, District-wide, etc.)
  • Records meeting minutes and prepares follow-up action item summaries
  • Ensures that data reports are submitted and input into the SYB/Community Schools Dashboard
  • Input course descriptions into web web-based system
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding privileged department and agency information.
  • Attends meetings, for the purpose of providing information, recording minutes; coordinating materials distribution, and/or supporting the needs of attendees.
  • Prepares and processes a wide variety of complex written materials (e.g. correspondence, agendas, minutes, event programs, bulletins, reports, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information and/or creating documentation in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. current practices, policies, education codes, board agenda items, parent, student, and community feedback, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or recommendations and/or addressing a variety of administrative requirements.
  • Responds to a wide variety of calls, concern, and/or complaints for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information, and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Equivalent training and experience in a discipline related to the functional responsibilities of the position, including human services; education reform; administration; etc.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Apple products and the Mac Operating System.
  • Capacity to organize and supervise assigned projects with integrity, including the ability to multi-task and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with SYTE staff, Buffalo Public School staff, partners, and other individuals and groups.
  • Ability to resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and independently.
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team to accomplish shared goals.
  • Superior organizational abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to learn new systems and operating procedures as needed.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License.
