Our client, a well-respected Houston Based Non-Profit, is seeking a Community Services Specialist to serve in their Food Pantry. This position will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of food pantry receipts and delivery of inventory, quality control and Nutrition Education Training,food delivery coordination and required local, state, and federal reporting on all food pantry activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides for a clean, safe, and efficient operation of the Food Pantry Registers clients into the Link2Feed database system when appropriate Distributes food baskets to clients on a walk-in basis Stocks food pantry shelves Processes food donations and receipts from private donors and contracted partners Coordinates and provides Nutrition Education training to clients Oversees and provides information relating to state inspections Coordinates and supervises monthly food distributions to eligible partners Tracks inventory and the disposition of obsolete, damaged and out-of-date inventory Performs inventories of food pantry assets on a weekly basis Enters client data and service notes into Tracking System Prepares reports on all food pantry receipt and distribution activities Organizes, participates in, and attends Outreach and Community Events on behalf of the Client Services Department and organization Complies with all agency, state, and federal regulations relating to the provision of food pantry services to eligible clients Adheres to all agency policies and acts as a role model in the adherence to those policies Performs other duties as assigned KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES NEEDED Have excellent communication and people skills, and provide excellent customer service; Have advanced technological skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Application Suite, social media, and client-tracking software; Have effective leadership and organizational skills; Problem-solve effectively, and make data-driven decisions; Have familiarity with the Federal CSBG Act, TAC, and State CSBG Laws, Statutes and Regulations; Support and show respect for all colleagues regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, race, politics, religion, or beliefs; Promote a harassment-free environment; Be able to work independently or on teams in challenging work atmosphere; Be able to prioritize and balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment; Plan and complete tasks and assignments on-schedule with minimal supervision using appropriate judgment; Exercise appropriate judgment, discretion and maintain the confidentiality of all company stakeholders; Avoid any interest or activity that conflicts with Standards of Conduct; Be experienced in conflict resolution; and Work with intentionality and integrity to ethically uphold mission, values, and goals.The Midtown Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
