General Description:
The Company Manager of Ballet Hispánico will oversee all dance Company related interactions including, long and short-range planning for the Company, its tour engagements and budgeting. They are responsible for the daily management and logistical support of the dancers, artistic staff, and guest artists of the ballet company. They act as the primary liaison between the company members, performance venues, and the administrative/production teams, ensuring the well-being of the company while facilitating smooth operations during rehearsals, performances, and tours.
Role and Relationships:
• Primary liaison for all performance and performance space related relationships related to the Company.
• Strategic planning, coordination of services, implementation of services and productions as well as logistics related to every tour, performance, and event for the Company.
• Maintains a strong and collaborative relationship with the AD/CEO, dancers, guest artists, and all members of the artistic and production teams.
• Develops and builds solid, positive relationships with the local, national, and international artistic communities as well as throughout the field of dance at large.
Key Accountabilities:
• Point of contact and ongoing liaison for all performance and venue relationships related to the Company and all its productions.
• Build, grow and manage positive relationships with performance venues while on tour.
• In collaboration with the AD/CEO, Chief Managing Director, and Director of Production the Company Manager will lead long-term planning and budgeting future performances, tour residencies, and touring schedules.
• Primary company liaison with presenters, festival organizers, and community organizations.
• Responsible for supporting and nurturing the dance company and crew to ensure the optimal well-being of all company members at all times.
• Develop, build, manage venue, presenter, and vendor relationships.
• Support, reinforce, promote, and grow awareness of Ballet Hispánico's brand, industry position, education program and mission, always.
• Draft, review and execute all Company performance related contracts, LOI's, and memorandum of understanding.
• Responsible for protecting the rights for all repertory ballets including choreographers, designers, musicians, sound and light crews at all times.
• Understand and manage union relationships; should be well versed in labor contracts, labor contract negotiation, labor law, and compliance with labor agreements. Maintains a collaborative relationship with all union representatives.
• Management and coordination of every aspect of travel for the Company, production crew, and visiting artists, including travel arrangements, logistics, travel documentation and visas.
• Handles artist and internal ticket requests for performances in NY and on tour.
• Develop and manage budget for the Company, collect fees and reimbursements as indicated.
• Manage weekly payroll for the Company and its guests, in conjunction with the respective managers.
• Support community engagement (CAP) activations on tour and ensure Company Dancers are presented with clear information about the activations
• Support VIP ticketing for presenters, choreographers and creative team at New York City Center productions and on national and international tours.
• Ensure the dancers' health and safety, coordinating with healthcare professionals (e.g., physical therapists, physicians) as needed.
• Communicate resources for mental health and wellness support for company members.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in arts administration, Performing Arts, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in company management, stage management, or arts administration, preferably in a ballet or performing arts setting. Experience with touring logistics is a strong plus.
• Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in software like Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling platforms.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Other Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during performances.
- Driver's License
- Ability to travel for tours nationally and internationally as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
