Position Overview:
My client is on the lookout for a seasoned Compliance and Controls Manager to join their dynamic team. The perfect candidate will possess a robust background in compliance, particularly with NERC standards. Key responsibilities encompass developing compliance policies, tracking compliance performance, managing vendor relationships including outsourced compliance activities, performing access management functions, programming firewalls, monitoring security controls, and facilitating compliance audits.

$145k base plus 20% bonus

As the Compliance and Controls Manager, you will:
- Policy Development: Create and update compliance policies, ensuring they align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to regulations including NIST and NERC. Conduct assessments to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and oversee vendor relationships, ensuring timely service delivery and high performance standards.
- Awareness Campaigns: Develop and deliver compliance awareness and training programs.
- Audit Facilitation: Facilitate regulatory audits, develop mitigation plans, and enhance compliance posture.
- Controls Implementation: Implement and maintain controls, including electronic and physical access management.
- Tools Monitoring: Monitor the performance of control tools and maintain their operational status.
- Change Management: Lead change management initiatives and maintain a system to facilitate controls and compliance.
- Reporting: Analyze controls performance across field assets and prepare monthly performance reports.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A Bachelor's degree in pre-law, compliance, or utility operations.
- At least 7 years of experience in compliance within a regulated entity (preferably in the electric sector).
- Knowledge of current compliance vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of audit principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
- Expertise in firewall programming and management.
- Familiarity with compliance management controls.
- Proficiency in internal controls and monitoring/evaluation principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve organizational goals.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
