Job Purpose
Responsible for coordinating with drivers, internal business partners, and third-party administrators to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with FMCSA regulatory requirements for driver qualifications, including Clearinghouse queries, Drug and Alcohol testing, MVR queries, CDL verifications, medical certifications, hours-of-service requirements
- Collaborates with HR, Recruiting, and Driver Development to provide thorough vetting and processing of FMCSA and Company requirements for new hire drivers
- Utilizes technological systems to monitor and report driver behaviors and maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Ensures established protocols are followed by third-parties during physical capabilities testing, medical examinations, and drug and alcohol testing
- Collaborates with third-party vendors to test, troubleshoot, and update technologies for optimal user interface
- Collaborates with Safety and Risk Management team members across PAL operating companies to ensure standardization of compliance programs and systems
- Conducts thorough analysis of compliance data and ensure all information is accurately maintained and reported
- Prepares and maintains compliance files and documentation for regulatory compliance inspections and audits
- Assists with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline compliance policies, processes, and practices
- Assists with monitoring regulatory compliance, industry standards, customer requirements, and compliance policies
- Prepares and submits required reports and documentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitors, analyzes, and communicates safety and compliance performance measures to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborates with Operations and Maintenance to review driver vehicle inspection reports and provide corrective action plans
- Assists with communicating and tracking safety and compliance engagement initiatives and training programs
- Conducts MCS-150 updates, renewals, and filings to comply with regulatory requirements and/or changes in business changes
- Ensures compliance with FMCSA drug and alcohol testing, training, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements
- Takes immediate action to remove employees or contractors from safety-sensitive duties when regulatory violations are identified
- All other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry
- Positive service-oriented attitude
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office business solutions
- Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential records and information
- Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Willing to travel up to 20%
