The Compliance & Risk manager develops and manages a systematic process to identify, assess, and treat actual and potential exposures to loss.The SecondaryIn collaboration with the Director for Health Care Compliance. Assists with the implementation of the Compliance & Risk Program for Health Services, consistent with board approved plans and regulatory and standard setting agencies. Coordinates review of medical information, debriefs all individuals as identified, performs cause and effect analysis and coordinates expert panel review, root solution and follow-up for all incidents identifiedResponsibilities:
- Manages the compliance & risk identification program for the organization's operations, departments, and services. Educates and assists other managers in assessing their areas of responsibility for exposures to loss and unsafe processes and conditions.
- Maintains a risk management information system. Collects, evaluates, and reports on events, incidents, and claims. Performs statistical analysis and trending of events and claims to pinpoint high risk areas for management attention.
- Reviews and analyzes data, rates by severity and conducts all follow-up as identified from review. Completes trending analysis to identify top priority areas for improvement.
- Investigates all serious events. and coordinates internal surveys and inspections, monitors reports, and coordinates corrective actions or recommended improvements with management and staff.
- Assists with communication and documentation of errors or serious events in accordance with legal requirements and/or accreditation standards.
- Coordinates Compliance & Risk orientation and training for staff to enhance awareness of their role in compliance, risk reduction, and incident event reporting.
- Co-Chairs the Compliance & Risk committee(s) and serves on related committees as members, or ex officio, as needed to communicate findings, recommendations, actions, and results.
- Acts as liaison to outside agencies such as local, state, federal, or voluntary accrediting agencies.
- Prepares Annual Reports of Compliance & Risk items as required by law.
- Oversees the implementation of Department Policy & Procedure Manual updates annually.
- Works with general counsel to coordinate the investigation, processing, settlement, and defense of claims and suits against the organization. Notifies insurance carriers of potential and actual claims. Coordinates the release of information in response to subpoenas, court orders, attorney requests, etc.
- Supports and collaborates with the Claims Manager to notify insurance carriers of potential and actual claims.
- Assists departments with the integration of quality, regulatory, infection control and risk management activities.
- Conducts monthly audits on department's compliance requirements, as related to our Compliance Program.

Qualifications:
- Commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities, as well as individuals with multiple chronic medical and/or behavioral health conditions.
- Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community, and with vendors.
- Four years of compliance and risk experience
- Willing to learn outside of their job description.
- In-depth knowledge of standards and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
Physical demands:
- Able to handle equipment ranging from 20-50 lbs.
- Requires being inside and sitting most of the time.
- Up to 15% travel to our satellite sites.
Working Conditions:
- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Remote Work Allowed
- Due to the nature of this position, employees may work remotely, in accordance with the Remote Work Policy contained in the Employee Manual, up to 2 days per week with their manager's approval.
